Weekend Update

The second graduation ceremony I attended this weekend was the Round Lake High School's ceremony for the class of 2005. From my point of view this one was interesting because 4 years ago when I was a "wet behind the ears" mayor, the first graduation I went to as mayor was there's from middle school. As always I was so impressed by the school spirit and the enthusiasm of the faculty and the students. Dr. Jeff Brierton the principal does a great job with the students.

There was a nice compliment for our Police Department, since we have a full time school resource officer in the high school, thanking us for all we do for the school. Trustee Don Newby and Trustee Jerry Shaw also attended the ceremony as well representing Round Lake. There were a scattering of other area officials as well.

But the most important things was the graduates and they were ready to move out into the world and get things done, so it was pretty exciting to see them graduate!
