Last week
Trustee Sherry Perkowitz organized for the Round Lake Area Leadership day, which
we have done for the last couple of years and our staff took 12 kids from the 116 middle school and showed them what goes on in a village. The highlights seemed to be
Deputy Chief Francis Foy, showing a video of his greatest traffic stops, and
Public Works Director Davis Clark opening a fire hydrant to flush it and sending water 100 feet into the air. Also participating were
Village Administrator Marc Huber, Finance Director Steve Shields, Police Chief Cliff Metaxa, and
Village Engineer Erika Frable. The kids seemed to have a great time by the time I joined them for pizza, so a special thanks to Sherry for setting it up, and for our staff for giving up time for the kids.
